A partial moon eclipse

Tomorrow Wednesday 15th of June in the Playa de la Cueva by San Sebastian Seaport the Astronomic Association of La Gomera will meet to contemplate the exceptional phenomenon of a total moon eclipse. From 20:30 hours, astronomy lovers and visitors will be able to bring their own telescopes to enjoy in company this occasion. Astronomy lovers will assess the visitors for the correct use of their telescopes and the explanation of the eclipse. Of course, the unique experience of watching it in the beach with the island of Tenerife as background.

Menu:
Starters:
Spanish cured ham and “almogrote”.
First dish: Watercress soup with “gofio” and fresh cheese.
Main dish:
Fresh salad Veal stew with mushroom sauce “Papas con mojo” (canarian style boiled potatoes with mojo spicy sauce).
Desserts:
“Gofio” mousse
Christmas spanish desserts.

Includes Rioja red wine, spanish spakling wine and water. Grapes and sparkling wine in Los Telares Apartments living-room to enjoy by the chimney of a tradicional spanish New Year’s Eve toast, where you must have 12 grapes along the chime of the midnight clock for a lucky New Year 2011.

One of the most important events of La Gomera’s cultural agenda are the San Marcos bonfires, lit on the 24th of April. This traditional celebration – both religious and a tribute to male spirit (sporting for fun, so well-known nowadays) – is located in Agulo.
