ANTROPOLOGIC MUSEUM AND SHOP “GOFIO MILL”

A small museum, where the best collection of the private antiquity of the island can be found, through which you can get to know more about the customs and the history of its inhabitants. You can see an active old water mill will millstones. The entrance tickets can be bought in the shop. Guided visits. Wide parking for guests.

GARAJONAY NATIONAL PARK

A big part of the interior island has been declared National Park: 4000 hectars o forest, hills and ravines. In its interior, one of the most representative laurel vegetations of the world, the forest of El Cedro, perfectly accessible for hikers.

PEAK OF GARAJONAY

The highest point of the island with an altitude of 1.481 meters. The legend tells the story of the impossible love between the princess Gara de Gomera and the prince Jonay de Tenerife, who, after their love had been discovered, decided to die together on the peak. From there you can view a big part of the parks surface, and also the islands Tenerife, La Palma, and El Hierro.

 

 

LOS ÓRGANOS

Situated in the north of Vallehermoso. Location of a steep slope of until 175 meters of altitude, whose freezing and posterior erosion have given the place the silhouette in a form of organic tubes that fall vertically until the sea. It can be perceived only from the sea. There are excursions by boat starting from the Valley Gran Rey.

EL PESCANTE DE HERMIGUA

The ideal place for swimming and relaxing. A natural swimming pool created near an old carrier of bananas. There are still the pillars in the sea that belonged to the cranes that carried the mercancies. There is also a restaurant with unique views of the sea and the valley of Hermigua and Agulo.

MIRADOR DE CÉSAR MANRIQUE

Above the valley of Gran Rey. A irador with a restaurant from which you can enjoy the view of the whole valley.

LA FORTALEZA (The fortress)

Despite of the name, there is no construction. There is a big rock in plane form, that during the Spanish invasion converted itself into a fortress. Its inacessability converted the place into the point of major resistance to the conquest of all the islands.

YARD OF EL CEDRO

Small traditional houses, in a valley with more than a thousand metres of altitude, near the Garajonay National Park. A partly left village crossed by natural paths, that protects the beds of traditional cultivations, mainly fruit trees.

LA LAGUNA GRANDE

Place of relaxation, a riverbed of an old laoon, a fallow land in the middle of the forest. Here many legends were born, in this firest located around La Laguna Grance, always surrounded by fog, where the tree stumps form skeleton figures. It is tld that at full moon all the whitches of the island meet here to celebrate their rituals. A stone circle shows the place, and it is told that inspite of a moving of those stones, the morning they appear in their original position.

 

 

EL CHORRO DE EL CEDRO

Impressive waterfall of almost 150 metres of altitude. There also exists a climbing path along the whole fall, appropriate only for the risk-willing. You can see more from a path that crosses Hermigua until Garajonay.

ROCKS AND MONOLITES

Along the island many impressive rocks of basaltic stone can be found. Witnesses of the volcanic past, these rocks are old chimneys of volcanic lava, that through the erosion now show the solidified interior. The erosion has given to each of them a unique form. The most impressive ones are Roque de Ojila, Pedro y Petra, Roque de Agando and La Zarcita y Carmona.

PLAYA DE LA CALETA

The Beach of La Caleta (The bay), about 15 minutes in car, and 45 minutes by feet, offers a small bar and restaurant in a bay apart from the populations. You can enjoy fantastic views of Tenerife and El Teide and also have your breakfast or meal outside.

 

 

PLAYA DE HERMIGUA

The ideal beach for surfing and bodyboarding. In summer, a sand bank is the special fun for the swimmers. You can stay and watch the goes down behin the island of Tenerife, providing an impressive view of El Teide.

 

 
PLAYAS DE LA ISLA

The beaches are as different as their landscapes. Some are near villages and pots, others are in untouched zones and others are only accessible via the sea. The only common characterictic is the black sand and the fresh and clean waters.
